Product Introduction

Q195 is a commonly used low alloy structural steel in China. Its chemical composition and mechanical properties are regulated by the Chinese national standard GB/T 700-2006.

Q195 Steel has the following general characteristics:

  • Low Carbon Content: Q195 steel has a low carbon content, typically around 0.12% to 0.15%. This low carbon content contributes to its good weldability and formability.
  • Good Ductility: Q195 steel exhibits good ductility, allowing it to be easily formed into various shapes during manufacturing processes such as bending, rolling, and stamping.
  • Moderate Strength: While not as strong as higher carbon steels, Q195 possesses moderate strength suitable for many structural and non-structural applications.
  • Ease of Welding: Due to its low carbon content and good ductility, Q195 steel is easy to weld using common welding methods such as arc welding, MIG welding, and TIG welding.
  • Versatility: Q195 steel is a versatile material that finds applications in construction, manufacturing, automotive, furniture, appliances, packaging, and other general industries where its properties meet the requirements of the application.

Applications

Q195 steel is known for its relatively low strength and good plasticity, making it suitable for various applications in different industries.

  • Construction: Q195 is commonly used for manufacturing various structural components, such as beams, columns, and structural profiles, due to its good formability and weldability.
  • General manufacturing: Q195 is used in the production of a wide range of manufactured goods, including machinery parts, pipes, and equipment, where high strength is not a primary requirement but formability and cost-effectiveness are important.
  • Automotive Industry: Q195 may be used in the automotive industry for non-critical components that do not require high strength, such as interior trim, brackets, and non-structural parts.
  • Furniture and Appliances: Q195 is used in the manufacturing of furniture, appliances, and household items where its formability and cost-effectiveness make it a suitable choice.
  • Packaging: Q195 can be used in the production of packaging materials, such as cans and containers, due to its formability and suitability for forming into various shapes.
  • Agricultural Equipment: Q195 may be used in the production of agricultural equipment and machinery components due to its formability and weldability.
